How Can I Know God?

God loved the world this way: He gave His only Son (Jesus) so that everyone who believes in Him would not die but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

Step 1

God loves you (John 3:16). God created you to know Him personally. Now this is eternal life: that you may know Him, the only true God, and Jesus Christ who God has sent. (John 17:3)
So what prevents us from knowing God personally?

Step 2

We are sinful, and separated from God. Because all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Your sins have made a separation between you and God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so He will not hear you (Isaiah 59:2). So now what we will do? Do you want to know?

Step 3

Here is the Good News: God demonstrates His love for us, in that while we are sinners Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). Christ died for our sins…He was buried…and He was raised on the third day according to the scriptures (I Corinthians 15:3-6). Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me” (John 14:6). Here is the problem; it is not enough just to know these truths.

Step 4

We must individually receive Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord; then we can know God personally and experience His love. You must receive Jesus. As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to everyone who believed in Him (John 1:12). You receive Jesus by faith. By grace you have been saved through faith; it’s not what you have done. Being saved is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8-9). So what are you waiting for?

Step 5

Now the next step is yours. If you declare that Jesus is Lord, and you believe in your heart that God brought Jesus back to life, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). For with the heart one believes receiving God’s approval and with the mouth, confession is made for salvation. By believing and confessing you will be saved. If you take this step, let us know.
